IAP Young Pathologist Award related Poster Session & Symposium Preliminary Announcement

Objective
The IAP Young Pathologist Award is established to honor and encourage young pathologists under the age of 40 who have made outstanding contributions to the field through their research.
This award aims not only to recognize exceptional scientific achievements but also to inspire the next generation of pathologists to continue advancing knowledge and excellence in pathology.
Eligibility
•  Only research not yet indexed in PubMed at the time of application is eligible. Abstracts under journal submission are acceptable; however, if the work is confirmed to be indexed in PubMed at the time of evaluation (around May 2026), it will no longer be eligible for the award.
•  Each applicant may submit only one abstract.
Eligibility Criteria
•  Must be a member of IAP (International Academy of Pathology).
•  Must be a pathologist under the age of 40 as of December 31, 2026.
•  Must be able to present the poster on-site and deliver an oral presentation on the designated day.
•  Only the first author of the abstract is eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Complete the designated fields in the General Abstract Submission Form and check both “Poster Session” and “Apply to Young Pathologist Award.”
Prepare your poster and curriculum vitae (CV) in the specified formats (to be released at the start of the application period) as PDF files and attach them to the submission form.
Application period: January 〇 – April 〇, 2026. *TBA
Selection Process
1.  Five awardees will be selected by the program committee based on the submitted abstract and the applicant’s research achievements.
2.  Awardees are required to present their posters during the Young Pathologist Award Poster Session and deliver an oral presentation during the Young Pathologist Award Symposium (15 minutes for presentation plus 5 minutes for Q&A per abstract). The presentation date will be scheduled between October 10 and 13 (to be confirmed).
3. Abstracts not selected for the award will be transferred to the general poster session.
Award
•  Awardees of the Young Pathologist Award will be presented with a certificate and a commemorative prize of JPY 100,000.
•  The award ceremony will take place during the Young Pathologist Award Symposium.
Notification of Selection Results
Applicants will be informed of the selection results around June 2026.
